FAQ – Electrolysis

HOW DOES ELECTROLYSIS WORK?

A filament is gently inserted into the hair follicle. It emits both heat and electricity which produces a costic chemical (LYE) causing coagulation to the bulb. After each hair is treated, it is removed.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?

For complete clearance of hair, you will be committed to up to one (1) to two (2) years of treatment at one (1) to three (3) week intervals.

IS THE TREAMENT PAINFUL?

When done correctly, you feel very little discomfort. Contrary to popular belief, we do not use a needle and pierce the skin. A filament is used and it is gently inserted into the opening of the follicle.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EEFFECTS?

Depending on the length of the treatment and the sensitivity of the skin, immediately after treatment, your skin will show slight redness and/or swelling. This will dissipate within 15 minutes to a few hours.
